dpkg-reconfigure

Reconfigure an already installed package in Debian.

Description

The dpkg-reconfigure command is used in Debian Linux to reconfigure packages after they have already been installed. You can pass one or more package names to this command, and it will re-ask the configuration questions that were asked when the software was first installed.

When a user needs to change the configuration of a package, they can use dpkg-reconfigure.

Syntax

dpkg-reconfigure (options) (parameters)

Options

-a                Reconfigure all installed packages.
-u, --unseen-only Show only questions that have not been asked before.
--default-priority Use the default priority instead of "low".
--force           Force reconfiguration. Use with caution.
--no-reload       Do not reload templates. Use with caution.
-f, --frontend    Specify the debconf frontend to use.
-p, --priority    Specify the minimum priority of questions to be displayed.
--terse           Enable terse output mode.

Parameters

Package Name: The name of the installed package to reconfigure.
