convertquota

Converts old quota files to the new format

Description

The convertquota command is used to convert old disk quota data files ("quota.user" and "quota.group") into the new format.

Syntax

convertquota [options] [arguments]

Options

-u: Only convert user disk quota data files;
-g: Only convert group disk quota data files;
-f: Convert old disk quota files to the new format;
-e: Change the new file format from big-endian to little-endian.

Arguments

Filesystem: Specify the filesystem (partition) for which the disk quota data files should be converted.

Examples

To convert the user disk quota data files on the /data filesystem, use the following command:

convertquota -u /data     # Convert user disk quota files on the "/data" filesystem
